Code Development Projects
Dripbook http://www.dripbook.com/
current
Extensive Python using Django, Javascript, database, service integrations, CSS, HTML, etc was conceived, created and developed to aid commercial creative artists a simple easy way to promote and express their work.
Media Tree
current
Solo development of a highly normalized database design and web interface to host and search millions of images over many machines. Features include batch caching of data, batch image editing, a highly tailorable presentation feature set, IPTC, EXIF, XMP reading and writing, user tracking, real-time statistics, image filters, an integrated affiliate program, search tracking, e- commerce, search serialization (ATOM, RSS, JSON), search notifications/alerts, as well as a REST API.
BlochLib http://waugh.cchem.berkeley.edu/blochlib/ [Out of Date]
2001-2003
Development of full high performance C++ NMR Classical and Quantum Mechanical simulation library for aid in many body spin dynamics. It uses an expression template vector, matrix, and 3D grid classes to solve many thousands of coupled equations. A set of modular interactions and parameter sets are included for the user to easily configure. The code is written to incorporate system specific fast numerical techniques, older 'proven' libraries (MINUIT, BLAS, etc.), and parallel techniques (MPI).
Solid http://waugh.cchem.berkeley.edu/solid/ [Out of Date]
2001-2003
Development of a general High Field Solid State NMR simulator designed to recreate and test almost all of the complex Radio-Frequency pulse programs on both an experimental and theoretical level in a high performance parellel environment.

Web/Database Administration
Washington Post Asset Management - Emeryville, CA - http://wpost.pictopia.com
2005-present
A system ('The MediaTree') that provides total backend integration for reselling (prints and licensing images) the Washington Post image assets from 1996 till the present. Uses standard REST API to integrate into Pictopia's CMS system. System Specs: PHP 4/5, Lighttpd and MySQL 5.
Pictopia - Emeryville, CA - http://pictopia.com
May 2003-Feb 2010
Streamlined interfaces for multi-tiered business systems. Developed scripts to automate the creation and analysis of financial data. Automated all aspects of product and information management by designing data and financial structures. Developed Java applications for rendering data and multiple images for printing. Managed a distributed network through troubleshooting and assembling hardware and software. Created web applications to interface with 3rd party e-commerce structures and image distribution systems. Grew the system from one machine to over 15 systems including load balancing, database replication, caching, and SAN. System Specs: Perl, mod_perl, Apache, MySQL and some Java.
Red carpet PICTURES - Emeryville, CA - http://redcarpetpictures.com [Out of Date]
2004-2005
Delivered a highly normalized press image management system. Key features included support for continuous image feeds to update website content, user management system, affiliate management system, and comprehensive statistical packages. System is based on optimizing search speed and search robustness (stemming, spelling, etc.). By the sites end it was capable of handling over 300,000 searches on over one million images per day. System Specs: PHP, Apache and MySQL. Note: site has since been removed.
